141: Guesting Game

Ok, so, let’s imagine you have a summer cottage. I know, I know. Or maybe like, a timeshare? Or some kind of space where you go sometimes but you haven’t been there in a while and now there are guests coming over.

You know what? This scenario honestly works just as well if we say “pretend you’re a person who rarely cleans and now you have a short amount of time to prepare for guests.”

Where do you start? What are your must-cleans? What can wait? And how well do you know these people, anyway?

Listen to the episode to learn how we navigate this listener query:

In other news, let’s talk about our dude Don. Our Patron Saint. Our Honorary CEO. Our champion. A man so far ahead of his time that he wrote a book about women’s invisible labor BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN.

To quote the bard(s), whatta man.

Anyway, I found his books on Better World Books, of which I am obsessed, and now you can too, if you want. Actually, you can get loads of old books for very little money on that website and you don’t need to give Amazon any money and also you can find really cool old titles. But this isn’t a Book Pod! This is a cleaning pod. And that’s why we’re all in on this content.

Glorious.

Other great topics this week included:

- How you can use bra bags to keep your socks together which is honestly GENIUS.

- How you can be your own chimney sweep if you’re not afraid to get your hands literally very dirty.

- How toys like Lincoln Logs can teach us about the order of operations - and that if something is too hard to put away, you may never take it out. There’s a real lesson there!

And of course, if you want a number, well…take a number! No but seriously, this has become a thing.
