129: Smudge Not, Lest Ye Be Smudged

We are not here to cast judgement on anyone. Except (maybe) people who use a feather duster because it is the year of our Lysol 2023 and you can do better. But other than that, we really do try never to make our issues (ahem anxiety and ADHD and the rest of the alphabet soup of things wrong with me) the issues of others.

That said, I don’t know that I can fully let fly the idea that someone who wants to live in a tidy-ish home is somehow under the spell of the patriarchy and acting out decades of oppression by, uh, doing the dishes. Especially when 1/2 of this pod is a dude who is bucking gender norms every time he cleans up after his partner, who cooks like the Swedish Chef!

But anyway, we talked about other stuff too - like how one of our listeners called back to tell us we were right!!!! You can listen here:

I also tried to help Andrew hunt down the source of a gift my mom sent him. We’re pretty sure this is it? Either way, you can get your own foaming hand soap pods from NatureBee (the Canadian one).

A couple of other recommendations that came up on the show this week:

  • The Big Dig podcast which is very good!

  • Siblings candles, where you just get a bag of wax and the tools you need and then you make a big ol’ candle in your own jar!

  • And my friend Kyler called in with a hot tip: Use petroleum jelly to make suctions cups suck more.

As always, we love to hear your suggestions and questions. You know what to do - just call the Spotline!
