153: Sheet Just Got Real
Listen, we all love Earth, ok? But we’re also all human and we all make choices about what we can and can’t manage to do. And as long as cruise ships are still dumping human waste into the oceans and petrochemical corporations are polluting on a massive scale, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to use a paper towel once in a dang blue moon. Right?
And anyway, Andrew may be on to something re: detergent sheets. Because Consumer Reports says that, while they are exceptionally satisfying to rip, in tests, they scored “from mediocre to lousy.”
…they had lower performance as a group than our lowest-performing liquid or pod/packs detergents…We also found that the laundry sheets we tested are especially ineffective at cleaning coffee stains. If you start your day with a cup of joe, you may want to skip these strips.
Oof! You know how we enjoy our daily cup(s) of coffee. Now, if you want to do like me and mix a zero-plastic or low-plastic liquid or powder detergent with the sheets for the smell (AND THE RIIIIIIIP), some recommendations are:
Grove, obvy
Meliora’s laundry powder is very good
Dirty Labs, which is really high quality but also pretty spendy
BlueLand is the OG when it comes to plastic-free packaging

In other news, I had a lovely experience with Supernatural, as noted on the pod, so here’s the link to their website.
Additionally, in our conversation about dorm showers and how to keep it less gross in the gym locker room and similarly yucky places, there’s one thing I forgot to mention. And I can’t believe I’m about to type these words but…
…Crocs are actually the best ones. No slipping, the tops are covered, and you know they won’t slide off.
I know. It’s tragic.
