Have you SOAKED THEM???

Heloise's Housekeeping Hints is an old book

On today’s show, your Local Housewives study up on some must-read literature from a listener: Heloise’s Housekeeping Hints, which is full of useful info like “paint the cabinets when your husband is home so that he can see you’re handy, but make sure to ask him to do the hardware so he knows you’re not TOO handy!”

To be fair, though, there are some helpful tidbits in here. For example, the difference between detergent and soap — detergent is a chemical compound made for cleaning and removing, soap is a fat-based cleaner typically made of natural compounds — is in there, as is the need to get all of the scum and sticky stuff off of the aforementioned cabinets before painting them.

Riveting stuff, this. Sorry, Heloise, but you’re no Don Aslett.

In other news, we’re back on Andrew’s Fly Bullshit. And in an exceptionally disturbing turnabout, we all need to learn about the existence of “flesh flies,” which is the worst thing that’s ever happened.

Additionally, we skipped down Memory Lane in the discussion of ladylike cleaning products that both cleanse AND condition because heaven forbid the Little Mister come home and find a clean sink but rough wifely hands!

Here are a couple of the products we mentioned this week:

And now, some questions:

First, what are we all cleaning our stainless steel with? What do you like to use and can I get it in a concentrate? I need a new stainless steel cleaner!

And second, WHAT CAN ANDREW DO WITH EPSOM SALTS?! What do you do with them? He has a huge sack and needs tips.

Oh, and if you’re a bug expert, we need to hear from you. Call the Spotline: 508-HOW-WASH.
