192: Leader of the Pack

Andrew is on vacation, but we thought ahead and recorded a podcast before he was rolling up his swim trunks and doubling down on SPF. And here’s what we talked about!

First off, this American Girl Magazine spread that forever altered my brain chemistry and changed my relationship to packing:

My key packing takeaways are these:

  • Pack clothes that you can mix and match, ensuring that you plan for special occasions, specific excursions, and other events that could require different apparel

  • Enough socks and underwear for at least 1.5x as long as you’ll be there JUST IN CASE

  • Keep one of each of your chargers together in your luggage. This really does make it so much easier to travel because you always have the cables and plugs that you need.

  • Consider getting an extra-long phone charger because you never know where the outlets will be

  • Use a hair straightener/flat iron on your clothes!!! This is very helpful!!!

Other topics of conversation this week included:

  • Packing your work bag — I always have an extra battery pack, hand sanitizer, a hair tie, some hair pins, a lip balm, my planner, some clean dog bags (“IT’S NOT LIKE THEY COME PRE-POOPED”), my water bottle, and my sealing coffee mug. What do you always pack? We want to know!

  • UNPACKING. I hate it. Andrew loves it. I just throw everything into the washing machine, even if it’s clean. Andrew thoughtfully (with the help of an edible) sorts through it all. What’s your unpacking style?

  • …And the art of fake nails.

Got questions? You know what to do. (It’s call us. You’re supposed to call us.)
