43: Talkin' Trash
We didn’t really mean for this to be a garbage-themed show, that’s just the kind of people that we are. So today, we bring you numerous riveting conversations pertaining to the subject of refuse.
First, let’s get down and dirty on disposals. What can and can’t go into your garbage disposal — and what is technically OK but not actually ok. We also go into a longer discussion about what can go down your pipes and what is truly terrible for the planet, for the plumbing, and for the Pacific Ocean (or wherever else your sewers empty out).
The main rule of thumb, though, is this: If it’s organic and it isn’t a huge glob (aka a LOT of coffee grounds or a TON of eggshells), or some disgusting oil or fat, you should be fine. Just make sure to flush it with plenty of water.
Next, Andrew did a deep dive on what, exactly, is keeping his HelloFresh (CODE: TBTL) boxes cold and how bad it is for the earth. The answer is, it turns out, REALLY BAD.
