95: Small But Mite-y

PHEW it’s America’s Birthday but if we’re honest, we haven’t attended that party in, uh, a lot of years. I mean, I love to hold a sparkler and potentially blow my hand off as much of the next dipshit, but America hasn’t exactly earned a party for like, well, ever. Anyway.

This week, Andrew blew my mind when he reminded me of the existence of clover mites, teeny tiny bugs I remember being fascinated by as a child. But are they a problem?

In other news, we maybe clear up a dispute over a dishwasher (I mean, not really - mostly I just told her to play with fire and see who got burned?) and Andrew shares maybe too much about his feelings on having a sponge for a hand.

We also talked about digital cleanup and what that might look like. Some steps include:

  • Create folders that you know are going to work for the files you have.

  • Don’t worry about getting them perfect because you’ll figure out more later.

  • Get an external hard drive ready so you have a path for your files.

  • Set aside time for it and make it more fun by reward-bundling.

Also, I got on my Preachy Horse to share some ideas for when you feel helpless. Because if there’s one thing that cleaning is ABSOLUTELY GREAT for, it’s reclaiming the feeling of control you’re missing when literally everything is shit. So find some tiny easy things to do and get those things done. You’ll feel better, I promise.
