155: Stain Alive

Do you see the orange spot on her haunch. And elbow. And side. And these are faded!!!!

Important update: My dog still has orange patches. She’s had three bathes in a variety of shampoos and conditioners and all that’s changed is that she’s eaten a lot of peanut butter (it’s the only way she’ll sit through the bathing experience). Eventually it’ll grow out, right? But I mean, unlike most other things that might get stained, at least a stained dog will grow out eventually, right?

Anyway, on this week’s show, Andrew shares the harrowing tale of the time he got duck turds in his hair and honestly I blacked out after that so just listen to it here:

We did talk about a couple of other things, including:

  • Little dishes, which are extremely helpful in curating and collecting all your small shit for when it comes time to cleaning. Great places to find them include: Antique shops, thrift stores, and dads who are very into ceramics.

  • Our ongoing cold wars of fragrance and Andrew’s pursuit of a suburban-smelling house

  • And how when you do home improvement, your house often gets even messier for a little while. Are you the kind of person who’s ok living with the little bit of extra mess in order to make the improvement, or will you live with the ugly wall color forever, wishing it would change?

Additionally, I have a question: How are we dealing with muddy paws/feet during the rainy season? Certainly there’s something better than leaving a towel hanging up by the door for six months out of the year, right? Dear god please, say there is? Please?
