163: Rug of Choice

Do y’all remember this? Because this was ALMOST me last week.

As the snow fell in Portland, all I could think about was that my outdoor rugs are extremely gross. Because, see, we’ve reached that point in the winter where everything is gross. It’s been so wet, so muddy, so cold, so leafy, so unpleasant that any cleaning which requires going outside and coming back in has been backburnered until after Daylight Saving AT LEAST.

But thennnnnnnn the itch starts itchin’ and you get to thinking maybe…just maybe….it’s a good time to get ahead of all these little outside chores, like grimy outdoor rugs and mucky paths and blackened window sills. Even if, you know, they’re probably going to get gross again because IT’S STILL WINTER, YOU DOLT.

Anyway, I’m saving the rug cleaning. And for reference, these are the ones we have. And yes, likely it will be VERY satisfying!

As you can see in the YouTube ✨thumbnail✨, we did indeed have a big ol’ reveal, courtesy of my mom. Turns out, that little rubber cup thing that comes with your Dirty Labs laundry soap? You toss that bad dude RIGHT IN THE LAUNDRY. Unbelievable. Feel like Dirty Labs owe us some money for all this plugging, or at least a lifetime of free soap but WHATEVER I guess keeping plastic out of the landfill will have to do.
