168: Duvet or Don't They?
Listen, it’s bananas to me that this WikiHow article with completely unhelpful pictures of the World’s Saddest Woman changing the linens in her inpatient mental facility dormitory couldn’t clarify the mysteries of duvet covers. Like, what about the following series of pictures is hard to understand???
What’s so confusing about that?
I kid, it does actually take a little doing to figure out how to join the elite, modern, classy, high-brow, tasteful ranks of the Duvet People. For example, in my Early Duvet Days, I used to actually climb all the way inside of my duvet cover to ensure all of the corners were connected, but then, it also just looked really cozy in there and half the time it ended in a nice little nap.
Anyway! There are about a million videos online if you want to learn more, but I will probably make one on Instagram because I am a cool person with fun hobbies.
Listen to the pod to get a better understanding of why duvets are simply for a better class of people:
In other news, Andrew finally cleaned out his car. His tools included:
Folex
Window cleaner
Paper towels
Microfibers, brazenly touched by bare hands
Fabulosa and hot water in a bucket
QTips
Two different vacuums
A brush of some sort
Interestingly, he didn’t use the two items that I always use for my vehicle, which are my much-adored Clorox 5-in-1 tool (which I’m not linking to here because I can only find a Target or Walmart link and I don’t mess with either of those) and my little handheld vacuum (which is like this but not as fancy).
Which did get us thinking…what do the pros use? Evidently, this is a subject of HOT debate! Here’s a Reddit thread where a bunch of professionals shared their favorite tools (they’re definitely for Big Dogs) and another one where the subject of a carpet extractor nets some real back-and-forth. Fascinating!
One last thing: We talked about weighted blanket a little. Mine is from Bearaby and while it was definitely an investment, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. Get on the mailing list so you know when they do sales if this is something you’re interested in. I love mine. Do you have one? Which do you like? Is it hard to clean? Share it with us! Send us an email or a voicemail or a voice note.
On that same subject, we’d love to hear your CONFESSIONS! I’ve got a few, but I won’t share them until we have a couple more of yours. Call us! Unburden yourself!
